Calgary Canucks Announce 2026–27 Coaching Staff

Calgary, AB – May 8, 2026 – The Calgary Canucks Junior A Hockey Club (the “Calgary Canucks”) of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (“AJHL”) are proud to announce the appointment of Geoff Rollins as Head Coach, along with Geoff Crisfield as Assistant Coach for the 2026–27 season. They will join returning Assistant Coach Riley Hearn behind the bench.

This announcement represents a natural progression from the organization’s March 9, 2026, interim coaching appointments and reflects the Canucks’ commitment to continuity, performance, and a culture built on accountability and development.

Rollins joined Riley Hearn in a coaching capacity late in the 2025–26 regular season under challenging circumstances, stepping in as a volunteer and immediately making a meaningful impact on the team’s structure, standards, and performance. His leadership, professionalism, and ability to connect with players earned the confidence of the organization and led to this permanent appointment.

“Geoff brought clarity, energy, and a standard of excellence at a critical point in our season,” said Calgary Canucks Governor Dennis Inglis. “He understands what this organization represents, and he earned this opportunity through his work, his leadership, and his results.”

Geoff Rollins, a Calgary Canucks alumnus, now assumes the role of Head Coach on a full-time basis. His deep understanding of the Canucks identity, combined with his extensive playing experience and leadership qualities, positions him to lead the next chapter of the organization’s continued pursuit of excellence.

Joining the staff is Geoff Crisfield as Assistant Coach. A proud Calgary product, Crisfield played his minor hockey locally and earned AEHL U18AAA Brian Benning Defenseman of the Year honours before going on to a successful Junior A career with the Vernon Vipers and Spruce Grove Saints. He was a key contributor on the Saints’ AJHL Championship team in 2013–14 and was committed to the University of North Dakota before completing his studies at SAIT.

Crisfield went on to play professionally with the Idaho Steelheads (ECHL) and the Birmingham Bulls (SPHL), where he led all players in playoff scoring and helped the Bulls reach the league finals. Following a successful transition into banking, he has since returned to hockey full-time. Over the past two seasons, he has served as an Assistant Coach at The Edge School (U17 Prep and Female U18 Prep), while also working with Push It Hockey on player skill development. He has additionally served as Chair of Player Engagement & Recruitment for the Calgary Canucks over the past three years.

His deep local roots, championship pedigree, professional experience, and demonstrated commitment to player development make him a valuable addition to the coaching staff and a strong mentor for Canucks players and their families.

“Geoff brings a tremendous combination of character, experience, and passion for development,” said Geoff Rollins. “He understands what it takes to win, but more importantly, he’s committed to helping our players grow both on and off the ice. We’re excited to have him behind the bench with us.”

Riley Hearn will continue in his role as Assistant Coach, providing continuity and stability within the coaching group.

Together, this staff reflects the Calgary Canucks’ core philosophy: investing in people who understand the organization’s standards, fostering a winning environment, and prioritizing the development of players both on and off the ice.

The Canucks remain committed to building on their recent success and maintaining their position as one of the premier development programs in Canadian junior hockey.
