Calgary, Alberta – Monday, September 29, 2025: Calgary Canucks hockey is back, and the team have started the 2025-26 season with a 3 -1-0 record.
All four games were played on home ice in September, kicking off with the Canucks hosting their South Division Rivals, the Canmore Eagles, in their home opener.
The Eagles attempted to spoil the Canucks’ celebration as they raised the 2025 Centennial Cup Champion banner to the rafters.
Canmore would take a 2-0 lead midway through the second period, but the Canucks would battle back.
Grant Reid would score a pair of goals in under two minutes, including a power-play marker to tie the game at 2-2.

Later, newly named captain, Riley Bracko, would score the go-ahead goal, making it 3-2 with his first goal of the season.
“I love having the responsibility, being able to lead my boys in the battle,” said Bracko about being named captain. “When I’m on the ice, working really hard and just showing the boys what it takes to win, I think it’s when I’m at my best.”
Adam M’Hamed put the Canucks up by a pair in the final twenty before the Eagles struck back, once again making it a one-goal game.
In the dying seconds with the Canmore net empty, Reid would complete the Hat Trick, helping the Canucks with a season-opening 5-3 win over the Eagles.
Heading into weekend two, the Canucks looked to bounce back after falling 10-3 to the Drumheller Dragons.
After a scoreless opening frame, Grant Ried would get things going with his fifth of the season, giving the Canucks a 1-0 lead over the Lloydminster Bobcats.
Just over 1:35 seconds later, Conner Radke would give Calgary a 2-0 lead on the power play with his first goal in his first game with the Canucks.
The Bobcats and Canucks, would trade goals later in the second period, making it a 3-1 game heading into the third period.
Harper Lolacher would seal it with his second goal of the game, giving the Canucks their second win of the season with a 4-1 victory over the Bobcats.
Goaltender Noah Nelson was named the home team star, stopping 34 of 35 shots for the Canucks.
Sunday afternoon, the Canucks would head into the second period down a goal to the Bonnyville Pontiacs, before scoring a pair of goals to take a 2-1 lead.
Kale McCann and Callum McSherry would each score their first of the season, while Bracko would put the Canucks up 3-1 early in the third period.
Pontiacs would make it a one-goal game, but the Canucks locked in to take a 4-2 win, with Lolacher once again finding the back of the empty net.
Nelson was lights out in his second start of the weekend, stopping 37 of 39 shots for his third win of the season.

“I think it’s guys in front of you; it’s not just one guy. They battled hard, and they allowed me to see pucks,” said goaltender Noah Nelson on his performance.
Next, the Calgary Canucks will hit the road for four games before returning home on October 18th to host the Camrose Kodiaks.
