The Calgary Jr A Canucks are pleased to announce the acquisitions of Brett Van Os from the Sherwood Park Crusaders and Jordan McConnell from the Drayton Valley Thunder.
Van Os comes to the Canucks as part of the trade which sent Mathew Dykstra to Sherwood Park last December. Last year with the Crusaders Van Os, the 6’2 forward, put up 16 Goals and 37 points. Brett will be a 20 year old this season and is excited about joining the Canucks.
McConnell, an Airdire native, joins the team in exchange for future considerations. As a 17 year old Jordan had an impressive rookie season scoring 12 goals and 13 assists for a total of 25 points.
“We are very excited about the additions of Brett and Jordan as they instantly improve our forward group adding size and skill while building on our identity up front of speed and high compete level” said Head Coach James Poole when asked about the newly acquired forwards. “Along with being quality players and people, Brett brings leadership to a young Canucks nucleus while Jordan brings the experience of being a major contributor to the UFA Bisons 2015 AMHL & Pacific Championship. We would like to welcome Brett and Jordan, along with their families, to the Canucks organization and look forward to helping them achieve their individual goals while they contribute to the Canucks resurgence back to the top of the AJHL.”
