Canucks Acquire Joren Patenaude from the Drayton Valley Thunder

The Canucks have acquired 1998-born forward Joren Patenaude from the Drayton Valley Thunder in exchange for forward Jaxon Steele.

Joren, a Calgary native, started his AJHL career with the Drumheller Dragons during the 2016-2017 season where he had a successful rookie year scoring 12 goals and getting 18 assists in 46 games.  Last season Patenaude started the season with the Drumheller Dragons where he racked up 18 points (10 goal, 8 assists) in 31 games, before adding another 15 points (8 goals, 7 assists) with the Drayton Valley Thunder.

Coach Oly had this to say about Joren, “Patty is a great kid, with a ton of passion for the game. Joren was with me in Drumheller a few years ago and he is a flashy player that can get you outta your seat with his moves and his skating ability and he can put the puck away as well. He is a welcomed addition to our team and organization and I am looking forward to him stepping in and becoming a true leader for the younger players.”

We would like to welcome Joren and his family to the Canucks Organization and would like to wish Jaxon all the success in the future.

Welcome to the Canucks Joren!
