Canucks Acquire Kyler Newman from Fort McMurray

The Calgary Canucks have acquired 1997-born defenceman Kyler Newman from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons in exchange for Reed Morison.

In his two season with the Oil Barons, Kyler played a total of 73 games during regular season and playoffs putting up 3 goals and 10 assists for a total of 13 points. “Kyler Newman is a welcome addition to the Canucks. His presence makes other players honest and we are looking forward to adding his size, experience, character, and stabilizing influence to our lineup!” notes President and GM Pat Loyer about the Newman acquisition.

Reed Morision will be heading up north after spending the 2015-2016 season with the Canucks and last season in the WHL with the Kootenay Ice.  “We wish Reed Morison all the best with the Oil Barons,” states Pat Loyer.

Welcome to the Canucks Kyler!
