The Calgary Canucks have made a number of moves on the December 1st cut down date. In the first move the Canucks acquired 1999–born defenceman Riley Thorpe from the Cowichan Valley Capitals in exchange for goaltender Caiden Kreitz. The Canucks have also acquired goaltender Kolby Matthews and future considerations from the Battleford North Stars in exchange for forward Dylan Williamson. Also on the move, defenceman Mitch Stapley has been traded to the Nipawan Hawks.
In his time with the Cowichan Valley Captials this season Thorpe has played in 25 games and has 4 assists. This season, Matthews has had 10 starts and has an 2.46 goals against average and .911 save percentage.
The Canucks would like to thank Caiden and Dylan, along with their families for all their contributions to the organization over the last few seasons. We wish Caiden, Dylan, and Mitch the best of luck with their new teams.
Welcome to the Canucks Riley and Kolby!
