The Canucks travelled north this week to participate in the annual AJHL showcase and came away a win and a loss.
On Thursday, the Canucks lost a hard fought battle against the Sherwood Park Crusaders, 4-3. The Canucks battled back twice in the third period to tie the game, however, the Crusaders scored the winning goal with just over a minute remaining in the third period. The Canucks had a glorious chance to tie the game with goaltender Cooper on the bench with 10 seconds to go but the puck just went wide.
Goal scorers in the game were William Nicholas, Curtis Lewington and Gianni Mangone.
On Friday, the Canucks played the Canmore Eagles and posted a 5-1 victory. Two goals in the first period, one in the second, and two in the third was more than enough offense to get the two points. Goal scorers were: Brett Dumaine, Colton Sheen, Trent Geiger, Ty Morgan and Derek Thorogood. Grayson Sharpe faced 35 shots in the net for the Canucks for his first win of the season.
The clubs record is now 4 wins and 5 losses which places them in a tie for third place in the south division standing as time of writing.
