The Calgary Canucks ended an incredible losing streak to the Sherwood Park Crusaders, dating back to February 4th 2007, by defeating the Cru by a 3-2 margin. For the first seven minutes of the game it appeared like the Crusaders were going to easily beat up on the Canucks as the game was already 2-0 at that point of the game, but Colin Cooper shut the door the rest of the way and the Canucks scored three goals in the second period to complete the comeback.
Scoring for the Canucks was Alex Marcinew potting two goals, while Gui Glasspoole scored his league leading 13th goal to give the Canucks the win.
The Canucks were outshot 17-3 in the third period but Colin Cooper stopped all of them. He stopped 37 out of 39 shots faced in the game.
With the win the Canucks improve to 8-9-1 and gain sole possession of 5th place in the South Division.
The Canucks did not get its 8th win until November 8th last season.
