Canucks Magus Commits to Lake Forest College

The Calgary Canucks are pleased to announce that 1996-born forward and Assistant Captain Kyler Magus has committed to Lake Forest College for the 2017-2018 season. Based in Lake Forest, Illinois the “Foresters” compete in the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association (NCHA) of NCAA.

Magus played his entire Junior career with the Canucks after graduating from the Edge Prep hockey program. In 119 games played, Magus recorded 24 goals & 53 points and helped lead the Canucks to its best regular season in 18 years finishing with a 37-19-4 record.

Canucks Head Coach / GM James Poole states, “Kyler is a classic example of a coaches player as every coach loves to have players that are warriors, unselfish and always willing to do the little things it takes to win hockey games. These little things don’t often show up on the score sheet but everyone on our team recognized how valuable Kyler was to our team. This was evident in why he won the unsung hero award after team wins more then any other player & why he was awarded the ‘Players Player’ award which as voted on by players for the player they most respect for what he does on & off the ice. Kyler will be truly missed this upcoming season as LFC is adding a great player & person to their program.”

The entire Calgary Canucks organization congratulate Kyler on his accomplishment of moving onto Lake Forest College, and thank him & his family for their dedication the past two seasons.
