The Calgary Canucks would like to announce the signing of 2000-born forward Leighton Burns-Marion.
Last year Leighton played for the successful Regina Pats midget AAA program, where he had 9 goals and 8 assists for a total of 17 points in 40 games. Leighton has aspirations of moving onto the NCAA and is hoping to earn a scholarship here with the Canucks.
“Leighton was a huge surprise for us, one of our scouts saw him out in Regina and said we just have to get this kid to camp,” stated Coach Oly. “He came in and right from day one he showcased his talents. Big forward that can get it done, skates well and is not afraid to go to the grey areas. Keep an eye on this kid.”
The Calgary Canucks would like to welcome Leighton and the Burns-Marion Family to the Canucks Family.
