The Calgary Canucks Junior ?A? Hockey Club is pleased to announce that Tyson Avery will be joining our coaching staff as assistant coach. Avery is one of the Canucks? scouts and comes to the Canucks from the High River Flyers of the HJHL where he spent that last two years as head coach. This past season the Flyers went 17-16-2 and made it to the second round of playoffs which was the best season in High River Flyers history. Prior to his time with the Flyers, Avery played 4 years with the Stratford Cullitons of the GOJHL where he won Defenseman of the Year and received a scholarship to Morrisville State College Div. III in New York. Avery played with Morrisville for 3 years and studied Agricultural Science Agronomy. Coach Olsen had this to say about Tyson, ?Tyson has been with the organization as a scout for over a year, while coaching a very successful Jr. B team in High River. He is a young man that has a passion to learn and grow and will be a welcomed addition on the ice and in the locker room for the boys. Coach Moran and I would like to welcome Tyson to the team and the Calgary Canucks organization.”
Welcome to the Canucks Family Tyson!
