Congrats to our AJHL League Award Finalists

The Canucks would like to congratulate forward Ben Assad and goaltender Logan Drackett on being AJHL League Award Finalists!

Ben Assad is the Canucks top scorer this season with 34 points, consisting of 17 goals and 17 assists and is one of the finalists in the AJHL for the Most Dedicated Player award.  When asked about Ben Head Coach Jay Pylypuik had this to say “We are very pleased that Ben has been recognized as a finalist for the Don McNabb Memorial Trophy as the league’s most dedicated player. Ben’s arrival has been a key addition to helping change the culture of the team to a hard working, and very determined group. Ben is a true leader and is a tremendous role model for our younger players with his tireless work ethic, passion and dedication not only to making himself better day in and day out but his dedication to his teammates and to the organization.”

Logan Drackett is one of four goaltenders in the mix for the Top Goaltender Award.  Logan has a 17-15-2 record with a .917 save percentage and a goals against average of 2.92 in his rookie season.   “We are very excited for Logan as he was named a finalist for the Friends of Alberta Junior Hockey League Trophy as the league’s top goaltender. Logan has worked very hard for this recognition and is very deserving. Simply put he gives us a chance to win every night, and he has won us games on several occasions. His never quit attitude has been instrumental in the team returning to the playoffs for the first time in 4 years,” said Head Coach Jay Pylypuik about the play of Logan Drackett this season.
