Cooper Johnson Named Captain for the 2018-2019 Season

Coming off a great weekend, the Canucks have a huge announcement to make!

The Calgary Canucks would like to announce that 20 year old Cooper Johnson has been named the Captain of the team for the 2018-2019 season! This will be Cooper's second season with the team and since his arrival he has been a stellar addition to the team and organization. Cooper comes out of the Calgary Buffaloes organization.

“It is so hard to find players like this anymore, the passion/fire this kid plays with, the drive, and the commitment to being the best every day, is a coach's dream,” states Coach Oly regarding Cooper. “Cooper is a class act and just what we need in the dressing room at this point of a re-tooling. He is a fantastic kid that comes from an unreal family and we are so happy to put this “C” on his chest. He is well deserving and he will lead this team to success.”

The Calgary Canucks have just finished their July Combine and it was a huge success. So many great players attended and were able to show off their skills on the ice. Coach Oly had this to say about the combine camp, “We have had a great combine and with the re-tooling we have added some real positive pieces to our team. Thank you all for coming.”

Main camp us just around the corner and we are so excited for the future of the Calgary Canucks.

Let’s Go Canucks!
