Volunteer Opportunity: Camera Operator
Description
The Calgary Canucks are a community owned and Volunteer ran junior hockey team playing out of the newly renovated Max Bell Centre. Our mission is to continue the legacy of Calgary’s oldest actively running hockey team, now entering our 51st season! We are looking for hockey passionate Volunteer “Crew Members” to join our growing team.
The Position
Operating our Camera at Centre Ice. This camera feed is used for our live broadcast.
Key Accountabilities
- Operator to understand or learn the functions of our Tripod and Camera.
- Ensure Camera feed is set and running 30 min prior to puck drop.
- Follow the “play” and keep the puck in frame, use “zoom” when needed.
- Understand the game of Hockey and how it flows.
The Individual
The ideal candidate will have the following background:
- Experience operating a video camera; if not a willingness to learn and gain experience.
- Knowledge of Hockey
- Understanding of cables, and how a camera sends video feeds.
- Access to own transportation; games played at Max Bell Centre. Transit options exist, C-Train station to Arena.
- Schedule flexibility to attend evenings and weekends. Our 22/23 Schedule is now live on CalgaryCanucks.ca
- Wanting to join a fast paced hockey minded community of volunteers. Supporting the next generation of Elite Hockey players in our city.
