Calgary Canucks first D1 commit in 5 years

CALGARY, AB – March 2, 2023 – The Calgary Canucks are proud to announce that goaltender Max Prazma has been committed to the Division 1 University of St. Thomas. This is the first D1 commit in 5 years. This announcement signals the return of the Calgary Canucks as a destination for top junior hockey players looking to reach new heights in their post-secondary aspirations.

Calgary Canucks General Manager and Head Coach, Brad Moran, is thrilled for Max as he continues his education and hockey career at St. Thomas next year. “Max is a true example of the outcome of believing in himself and putting in the work to get to the next level. He has helped set a standard within our team that will remain once he moves on. We wish him the best of luck there next season,” says Moran.

Not surprisingly, Max is also excited and grateful to commit to St. Thomas. “They have great development for players to excel in hockey while having the support they need to have academic success. St. Thomas is building a great program and I am looking forward to being a part of it,” said Prazma.

Max says that “the Canucks organization has helped me a lot this year. The coaching staff has supported me with everything I need to develop as a player. My teammates have been great making it a super easy transition to joining the Canucks and it makes it fun to be at the rink everyday.”
