PLAYOFF PREVIEW: Canucks are Getting Ready for the First Round of Playoffs

The 2017 AJHL Gas Drive Playoffs are less than a week away and after a great season the Canucks are getting ready for the first round.

With a third place finish in the South Division the Canucks will have home ice advantage for the first round and will be taking on the Drumheller Dragons. This is only the second time the Canucks will face off against the Dragons in playoffs, the first coming during the 2004-2005.

This season things have gone the Canucks way in the series against the Dragons as the Canucks took the series 6-0.  While the Canucks have come out on top the Dragons shouldn’t be taken lightly as the games have been close. In the first match up back in September the Canucks hosted the Dragons at home in which the game went into a shootout.  The Canucks ended up taking the game by a score of 4-3.  In game two the Canucks were in Drumheller where they won 5-2.  After not seeing each other for a few months the Canucks faced off against the Dragons 3 times in January.  In the first game the Canucks ended up winning by a score of 5-0.  The next game was a little closer with the final score being 4-2 Canucks followed by a game at the end of January which ended with the Canucks winning 3-1. In the final matchup of the season the game went into overtime which resulted in a 5-4 victory for the Canucks.

Come on out and cheer on the Canucks as they take on the Drumheller Dragons in the first round of playoffs!
