Weekly Recap: December 4 ? December 10

Tuesday night the Canucks travelled out to Drumheller for a matchup against the Dragons. The Dragons started the scoring with a power play goal at 14:58 of the first from #29 Alex Rotundo. The period would end with the Dragons holding a 1-0 lead. Things continued for the Dragons in the second as they put up 3 goals in the period. The first was scored on the power play from #10 Tyler Kreklewich. #27 Brayden Nicholetts made it 3-0 Dragons at the 10:17 mark of the second. The Dragons third goal of the period was scored by #29 Alex Rotundo. At the end of the period the Canucks were down 4-0. In the third the Dragons scored to extend their lead to 5-0 with a goal from #4 Brett Wieschorster. The Canucks pushed one past the Dragons netminder to break his shutout with a goal from #22 Josh Giacomin from #21 Riley Thorpe and #6 Scott Nicholson. The Dragons responded a few minutes later with a goal from #28 Brett Edwards. In the final two minutes #10 Tyler Kreklewich made it 7-1 for the Dragons. The period would end with the Dragons up 7-1.

Friday the Canucks were back in Strathmore hosting the Brooks Bandits. #4 Dennis Cesana scored first to give the Bandits a 1-0 lead at the 10:06 mark of the first. Though the Canucks would end up outshooting the Bandits in the period they were unable to get on the board. In the second the Canucks battled hard putting up 14 shots on net. The Bandits lucked out as #4 Dennis Cesana scored his second to give the Bandits a 2-0 lead. In the third the Bandits #37 Nolan Thompson extended the Bandits lead to 3-0. After 60 minutes of play the Canucks were unable to tie things up and the Bandits took the game 3-0.

Up next, the Canucks are heading across town to take on the Calgary Mustangs on Tuesday night. Then the Canucks will be back at home on the weekend for a match up against the Bonnyville Pontiacs on Saturday, before the Fort McMurray Oil Barons are in town for an afternoon showdown on Sunday.
