Calgary Canucks next Home Game: Tonight vs. Drumheller Dragons

The Calgary Canucks overcame a 2-0  deficit, and held on to win 3-2 in its first game of the season.

After a scoreless first period, the Dragons drew first blood by scoring two goals, 69 seconds apart early in the second period. Dakota Zaharichuk scored at the 1:22 mark, and  Brodie Jamieson scored at the 2:31 mark.

The Canucks finally got on the board with a goal with 1:42 remaining in the 2nd.

The Canucks were not able to convert on any of its three powerplay opportunities but went a perfect 7-for-7 on the penalty kill. Gui Glasspoole scored a shorthanded goal to even the game 4:01 into the third period.

There were four rookies in the line-up last night, and the oldest rookie-19 year old Nicholas Plesa- scored the game-winning goal with 4:26 remaining in regulation time.

The Canucks will try and go for the home-and-home sweep tonight at the Max Bell Centre at 7 PM!
