The Calgary Canucks have acquired 1998-born forward Cooper Johnson from the Camrose Kodiaks in exchange for defenceman Cale Chalifoux. Last season with the Kodiaks Johnson scored 11 goals and racked up 18 assists for a total of 29 points.
“We are excited to add Cooper and his family to our organization. As a Calgary kid, he is one that got away, but he is home now!” remarked President and GM Pat Loyer about the Johnson acquisition. “We expect Cooper to step in and be a big contributor and provide leadership both on and off the ice. Welcome home Cooper!”
“Losing Cale is one of the hardest deals we have had to make here. The Chalifoux family is as good as they come and Camrose is getting a pretty special kid in Cale Chalifoux,” added Pat Loyer. “We would like to thank Cale and his family for the two great years here and wish him nothing but the best.”
Welcome to the Canucks Cooper!
