Canucks in the Community ? Canucks ‘Stick It To Cancer’ with the St. Helena Hawks

The Calgary Canucks went to St. Helena Junior High School on Wednesday, February 28th to support their annual Stick It To Cancer fundraiser. The St. Helena students have been raising funds to support the charitable group, Kids Cancer Care in memory of a student from the school named Alec Remenda who was a huge hockey fan.  Alec tragically passed away from cancer on July 26, 2016.

The 'Stick It To Cancer' day at St. Helena school started off with a pep rally and a floor hockey game between the Calgary Canucks players and the St. Helena Hawks team who were the winners of the floor hockey tournament. It was a close game and the Hawks ended up winning in a shootout. After the hockey game there were many more events including sticking a teacher to the wall and a head shaving initiative.
