With the AJHL Returning to Play in March the Calgary Canucks have made some changes to the roster.
The Canucks have added Nick Cherkowski, a 2000-born forward who most recently played for the Chilliwack Chiefs of the BCHL. Coach Moran had this to say about Cherkowski’s addition, “Nick adds leadership and character to our team. He will help create offense and can play on both special teams. I expect Nick to jump in and make an impact right away on and off the ice.”
Also joining the Canucks forwards is 2002-born Landon Kolnik from the Saint-Jérà´me Panthères of the QJHL. “Landon is a smart, 200 foot hockey player. He will create energy for us and really competes hard,” comments Coach Moran, “He is young and has a lot of potential and I am looking forward to seeing him contribute to the team.”
Finally, the Canucks would like to announce the addition of Ian Mills, a 2004-born goaltender from the Calgary Northstars U18. “Ian Mills will provide us with stable goaltending depth for the remainder of the season and solidify the position going into next season along with Sam Philpott,” Coach Moran said, “I am excited to have Ian join the Canucks and help our team move forward.”
The Canucks would also like to thank Cam McAdam who is moving on to SAIT. “I would like to thank Cam for his time with us, although short, he brought the type of character and work ethic we want all of our players to have,” said Coach Moran. We would also like to thank goaltender Ryan Baker for stepping in earlier in the year.
