The Calgary Canucks are very pleased to announce that 1998-born Goalie Logan Drackett has committed to (RIT) Rochester Institute of Technology. Based in Rochester, New York, the “Tigers” compete in the NCAA Division 1 Atlantic Hockey Association.
“I’m very excited to become a Tiger. I feel I couldn’t have picked a better fit for myself,” states Logan Drackett. “Thanks to the Canucks organization, all my current and past coaches, friends and most importantly my family for helping me achieve this personal goal.”
Drackett, an 18-year old goalie from Calgary is in his 2nd season with the Canucks. In 61 career regular season games, Drackett has posted a goals against average of 2.74 and save percentage of .915. After a sensational rookie season in 2015-2016, Drackett was rewarded with the Viterra Cup Award (Most Player of Game Awards in AJHL), along with being named to the South All-League and All-Rookie team. This season, Drackett currently leads the AJHL in wins with 11.

On the ice, his play has been exceptional giving the Canucks a chance to win every night, while off the ice he’s also been a huge part in changing the culture with his infectious team 1st attitude. Logan couldn’t be more deserving of this opportunity and as an organization we couldn’t be happier for Logan and his family on this scholastic and hockey achievement. At the same time, we look forward to his continued contributions to making this season the most successful in recent memory as the Canucks look to re-establish ourselves as an elite AJHL program.”
Logan Drackett is the first player from the 2016-2017 Canucks to commit to NCAA D1 post-secondary hockey program.
