MICHAEL CLARKE COMMIT TO CALGARY CANUCKS

For Immediate Release Tuesday, May 27, 2014 The Calgary Canucks are pleased to announce that forward Michael Clarke (Medicine Hat, AB) has committed to the team after the team’s Spring Camp. The 1998 born player was exceptional during the Camp and will get a chance to play for a spot on the team at the main camp in August. Last year with the SEAC Tigers in minor midget, Clarke averaged a point a game notching 20 goals and 17 assists in 37 games and added 70 PIM. He was tied for the team lead in points and third in penalty minutes. He describes himself as a power forward with a decent shot, good set of hands and sees the ice well. “I’m ecstatic,” he said after the camp. “I’ve been waiting to do this my whole life. I’m living the dream.” Clarke already knows current Canuck and fellow Medicine Hat player Logan Franz. “We’re excited to have the opportunity to have him join our team,” said Head Coach and General Manager Ryan Barrett. “He has the type of scoring we need to add to our program.” Clarke joins Tyler Barrett, Jason Yan and Tyler Devost who all committed to the Canucks following the Spring Camp held a few weeks ago.
