Second in win in Back-to-Back home games!

After defeating the Canmore Eagles 3:2 in overtime, the Calgary Canucks had to go the extra mile again Saturday night in their 2:1 overtime win against the Bonnyville Pontiacs. The win over the second placed team of the Viterra AJHL North Division team was the second win in a row in the second of two Back-to-Back home games for the Calgary Canucks. The Calgary Canucks take an overtime win again tonight, winning 2-1 against the Bonnyville Pontiacs.

The team started out fast and strong and kept the Pontiacs at bay until they scored with four minutes left in the game making the score 1-0 in favour of the Pontiacs.

Going in with 1-0 in favour of the Pontiacs, the puck dropped in the second period. Seven minutes into the second and #7 Chandler Irvin of the Calgary Canucks gets a penalty for boarding and heads to the box for two minutes. Shortly after #3 Hunter Routheau of the Calgary Canucks heads to the box for a roughing penalty.

After a hard fought second period the players left the ice, leaving the score at 1-0 for the Pontiacs.

Canucks come out with determination to take back the third period on their home ice. 1:15 into the third and Canucks score making it a tie game. Both teams fought hard to break the tie, however unable to, leaving it at 1-1 going into overtime.

At 2:30 into overtime the Canucks break the tie and bring home the win of the night with a goal by #12 Andrew Marshall, assisted by #4 Allan MacPherson.

The game ended with 27 shots on the Canucks goalie #30 Logan Drackett and 25 shots on Pontiacs #31 Olivier Charest.
