Tough Loss in Last Home Game of 2015

The Calgary Canucks lost an extremely close game to the Calgary Mustangs 4:3 after overtime. The Canucks played hard, but couldn’t stop the Mustangs from scoring at 12:50 left in the first period. Parker Ward, #19 goes to the penalty box and gets two minutes for hooking in the first.

The first period ends 1-0 for the Mustangs. Canucks come out with eight shots on net and seven for the Mustangs.

The Canucks start out strong in the second with a power play goal two minutes in by #22 Josh Giacomin, assisted by #20 Austin Ehret. Right after the Mustangs come back with a goal, bringing the score to 2-1 for the Mustangs.

Near the end of the second period the Mustangs score again. Leaving the second 3-1 in favour of the Mustangs.

Going into the third the Canucks were looking for an early goal, which #8 Ryan McKinnon scored, assisted by #26 Nolan Carothers. Ten minutes left in the game and the score is 3-2 for the Mustangs as the Canucks look to add another to the scoreboard.

Another goal for #8 Ryan McKinnon with six minutes left in the third, assisted by #6 Tye Hand and #7 Chandler Irvin.

With the score tied at 3-3, both teams head into overtime ready to take the game. One minute left in OT play and the Calgary Mustangs take the win at 4-3.
