The Oil Barons responded by firing a barrage of shots toward the Canucks net but Andrew Guglielmen stood his ground to maintain the Canucks lead at the end of the first period.

The shots were 12 to 7 in favour of the Oil Barons.

The Oil Barons continued to test Guglielmen, and each time the Canucks goaltender came out on top.

The MOB broke through with 2:47 remaining in the second period when Doug Gayle made a nice pass towards the net that saw Doug Jones score his first goal as an Oil Baron.

The period ended with the Canucks leading the game 2-1

The Oil Barons outshot the Canucks 24-15 in the first two periods.

The Oil Barons pulled its goaltender with 1:30 remaining in the game. The Oil Barons converted with the extra attacker with 1:14 remaining on the clock.

The Oil Barons were within 1 goal.

But that is as close as that team would come as the Canucks stifled the Barons the rest of the way to preserve the victory.

With the win the Canucks record improved to 11-11-1, while the MOB dropped to 10-10-2.
