Canucks Acquire Diamond and Ursulak

The Calgary Canucks have acquired 1998-born goaltender Pierce Diamond from the Whitecourt Wolverines and 1997-born forward Hayden Ursulak from the Fort McMurray Oil Barons.

During his time with the Wolverines, Diamond had a 27-6-4 record, 5 of which were shutouts, had a 2.24 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.   Last season Diamond was also named a finalist for the AJHL Top Goaltender Award. Talking with President and GM Pat Loyer he had this to say about the acquisition of Diamond, “Pierce Diamond had a great season last year and gives us another good player from a winning culture. We are excited to add Pierce and look forward to seeing him in Canuck colours.”

“Hayden is a Calgary kid we have acquired from Fort McMurray. What impressed us most was that Hayden has some grit and plays a 200 ft game,” Loyer adds regarding Ursulak. “Hayden had a good season last year and again comes from a pretty good culture of winning.” In 56 games with the Oil Barons last year, Ursulak put up 9 goals and 16 assists for a total of 25 points.

“We are a better team today than yesterday with the additions of Pierce and Hayden and are excited to add them and their families to our organization!”

Welcome to the Canucks Pierce and Hayden!
