The Calgary Canucks fell 7-3 to the Grande Prairie Storm at Max Bell Centre Wednesday night.
Grande Prairie had the better start to hte game, leading 2:0 after the first 20 minutes of play.
However, the Canucks came back in the second, battling hard to bring the score within one goal. The second period ended with the team just below the Canucks in shots at 26-25 and the score at 3:2 in favour of the Storm.
The Canucks continued to put up a strong fight up until the end of the game when Grande Prairie scored two empty net goals to put the final score at 7:3.
Both teams played a physical game which resulted in a high number of penalties and power play goals. The Canucks fought hard and didn’t make this win an easy one for the Storm.
Highlights of the game include Ben Assad scoring 2 goals for the team and being name the Canucks first star.
The Canucks hope to bring in a win their next game against the Camrose Kodiaks at Encana Arena tonight.
