Calgary Canucks Name Todd Ford Goaltending Coach

Calgary, AB – July 16, 2026 – The Calgary Canucks Junior A Hockey Club (the “Calgary Canucks”) of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (“AJHL”) is proud to announce the appointment of Todd Ford as the organization’s Goaltending Coach. Todd joins Geoff Rollins as Head Coach, along with Geoff Crisfield and Riley Hearn as Assistant Coaches for the 2026–27 season.

A Calgary native, Ford brings an exceptional combination of elite playing experience, technical expertise, and a passion for developing young athletes. His extensive background as a professional goaltender and respected goalie development coach will provide tremendous value to the Calgary Canucks as the organization continues to build upon its recent success and commitment to excellence.

Selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the third round (74th overall) of the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Ford enjoyed a distinguished professional career that included time in the American Hockey League (AHL), ECHL, and Europe. During his career, he was signed by the Washington Capitals organization and earned recognition as one of the ECHL’s premier goaltenders, highlighted by being named the ECHL Goaltender of the Year and a First Team ECHL All-Star during the 2009-10 season.

Since concluding his playing career, Ford has established himself as one of Western Canada’s most respected goaltending instructors. His coaching experience includes working with the Calgary Hitmen of the Western Hockey League, Mount Royal University Cougars, and numerous elite goaltenders through private development programs.

“We are thrilled to welcome Todd to the Calgary Canucks family,” said Geoff Rollins. “Todd’s experience as an elite professional goaltender, combined with his outstanding reputation as a teacher and mentor, makes him an exceptional addition to our coaching staff. His technical knowledge, professionalism, and ability to connect with young athletes will have a significant impact on the development of our goaltenders and our hockey program as a whole.”

Ford’s appointment further strengthens a coaching staff committed to developing not only elite hockey players but exceptional young people. His philosophy of preparation, accountability, and continuous improvement aligns closely with the Calgary Canucks’ values and long-term vision.

“I am honoured to join such a historic organization,” said Ford. “The Calgary Canucks have built a culture centered on excellence, development, and community. I look forward to working with our goaltenders, helping them maximize their potential, and contributing to the continued success of the program.”

The Calgary Canucks are coming off an unprecedented period of success, capturing back-to-back Alberta Junior Hockey League Championships and the 2025 Centennial Cup National Championship. The addition of Ford reinforces the organization’s commitment to providing its student-athletes with the highest calibre of coaching and player development.

The Calgary Canucks welcome Todd, his family, and look forward to an exciting season ahead.
