Canucks Lend A Helping Hand For The Cure!

The Calgary Canucks were in the community throughout the day on Saturday, February 11th where the team helped out with the 2017 version of the Hair Masscure event!

The Canucks players were on hand for the special event in Southcentre Mall in south east Calgary.  The players signed autographs for kids, posed for photos with fans, and helped cheer on the head shave participants!

Several hundred people came through the mall to participate in the program, or to observe the special event. The location of the event – in the centre court of Southcentre Mall – was a perfect setting for people to watch and partake in the festivities.

The premise of the Hair Massacure program is for participants to colour their hair pink in advance of the event, and then to collect donations and pledges as they generate awareness towards a variety of cancers.  At the actual event, it is time for the participants to get their haircuts, or in some instances – shave their heads, for the cause.

The beneficiaries for the event are the Ronald McDonald House Southern Alberta, and Make-A-Wish Southern Alberta. Two very special charitable causes, which the Calgary Canucks are very proud to support.
