Volunteer Opportunity: Usher
Description
The Calgary Canucks are a community owned and Volunteer ran junior hockey team playing out of the newly renovated Max Bell Centre. Our mission is to continue the legacy of Calgary’s oldest actively running hockey team, now entering our 51st season! We are looking for hockey passionate Volunteer “Crew Members” to join our growing team.
The Position
Stationed at either an entrance gate scanning tickets; or at a closed entrance while watching over portions of the arena. Our Ushers are right in the action enjoying fast paced AJHL Hockey. Friendly and observant, you will be responsible for answering access questions from fans, assisting with issues as they arise, and being observant of the crowd ensuring everyone has the best experience at the Max Bell Centre.
Key Accountabilities
- Scanning Digital and printed tickets, stamping hands for re-entry
- Securing entrances or “no fan access” areas
- Observing the game and fans ensuring there are no issues that require game day staff attention
- Answering fan questions about sections, seating, and access to the Max Bell Centre
The Individual
The ideal candidate will have the following background:
- Willing to learn how to use our ticket scanners
- Access to own transportation; games played at Max Bell Centre. Transit options exist, C-Train station to Arena. Free parking.
- Schedule flexibility to attend evenings and weekends. Our 22/23 schedule is now live on CalgaryCanucks.ca
- Wanting to join a fast-paced hockey minded community of volunteers supporting the next generation of Elite Hockey players in our city.
